Remove custom player controls

My brain is fried. I thought I either did this before, or thought you could do this. I can't find it.
I added a two new player tabs (Help and Quiz). Both are linked to slides somewhere in the course.
The very first slide in the course is a splash screen with a .swf file. I want to take this first slide only, and remove all of the player tabs (Menu, Resources, etc). For some reason I can't remove the custom tabs I created for this one slide.

On that slide, down in the bottom right corner where you can turn off the Next and Prev buttons, is where you can also turn off tabs (sorry doing this from memory). I think you need to change the drop down to Custom and then you can unselect the tabs.

Thanks Blair. Problem is they don't appear here. I only see the custom tabs when I customize the player.
Hi Mike,
Unfortunately custom tabs can't be removed on a slide by slide basis - only the elements you see there.
Thank Ashley.
Would you know if this can be done via XML or JS?
Both those are outside my wheelhouse - but hopefully someone in the community will be able to chime in and offer assistance.
