I am new to Storyline and have inherited a project created by a previous employee. In the screencast recording, there are two words that I want to remove from the sound in the video. It appears that the sound is part of the screencast and not a separate piece that I can edit in something like Audacity. Is there a way to mute the two words using Storyline?

There's no currently no built-in feature that allows you to edit out middle parts of a screen recording, only to trim the ends.
You may want to check out some of the creative work-arounds in this Forum Thread, and you can also submit this idea as a Feature Request!
Camtasia will spit audio and video apart. You can edit the audio with Audacity, then fold them back together with Camtasia.

I read through the Forum Thread and eventually used Movie Maker to clip out the section.
