Replay button not working and causes blank screen

Jul 11, 2017

Hello,

It seems as though the replay button for one of my slides isn't working. Furthermore, if you try to replay the slide and revisit it at another time it will appear blank and will automatically be skipped . It fixes itself if you replay the title slide. I'm not sure what could be causing this issue so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attached the output file, the slide that is having problems is the second slide (ContEd Home).

Thanks,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

I didn't see the replay button you mentioned, but I did notice that navigating back using the previous button saw elements on slide 2 disappear. I thought it may be the animations on your slide, but even removing those caused me to see the odd disappearance of the slide elements after clicking back and forth a few times.

I'd like to open up a support case for you so that our engineers can dig a bit deeper. Can you answer a few more questions to get us started:

  • What version of Storyline was the file built in? Do you know what update you're using?
  • Have you always worked on local project files (vs. files on a network or shared drive)

Hi Ashley,

I apologize for the replay button not being implemented as I coped this scene to a new project, causing the player not to carry over.

To answer your questions

  • The file was built on the version previous to 1.7.12582.0 (Just updated today, I outputted the slides after the update but the problem still persists)
  • The files have always been worked on locally, they were only uploaded to a network drive afterwards.

Thanks,

Arthur

Thanks Arthur for that additional information. I have started that case with our Support engineers - and although the replay button wasn't there I saw the same behavior with the previous button or navigating using the menu - so it's the replay of that slide in general which is getting tripped up.
