Reset previous state of object automatically when user clicks or drags seekbar?

Apr 26, 2023

Hi,

I am relatively new to Articulate, at the moment trying to make a slide work at all times while allowing the user to click on the seek bar. I have one looped layer with an animation on the slide, which lasts up to a certain point. After that I have objects only on the basic layer. However, my trigger to hide the loop layer uses the timeline and once the particular time in the timeline is reached, the loop disappears. But when the user clicks on the seek bar at a time before that, my loop remains hidden. Is there an option for the seek bar to automatically reset the states of objects when dragged or clicked? If not, any idea of a trigger with a variable, connected to the seek bar?

Hi Vera!

Welcome to authoring in Storyline 360 and the E-Learning Heroes community!

I’d be happy to help with getting your triggers and seek bar set up in your course! Would you be willing to share your .story file here in the discussion or privately through a support case? It would be helpful to see how you have your slides built out so far.

I also wanted to share a webinar resource that is available to you as an Articulate 360 subscriber! This one is specific to variables:

Additionally, I'd like to invite you to our tips and tricks webinars. At 11am ET every Thursday, our training team hops on a live call to answer top questions from our customers!

It's super casual (and they're super smart!), so it's a great place to get expert tips and answers to frequently asked questions from our online community. In short, everything you need to create incredible online learning! You can register for the next call here: https://articulate.fyi/3ZiKgu9

And don't worry if you can't make it, because everyone who registers will get a recording sent to them afterward!

Hope to see you there!
