Reset Quiz options on individual slide

May 19, 2017

Hello,

I have developed a Quiz for my course and I have few questions:

- Can I set the number of times a user retakes a quiz if they don't pass?

- My quiz currently has 2 attempts per question slide. If the user attempts the quiz the first time, but gets the answer wrong, can I reset the options? For example I am using a multiple choice slide and I want the radio button to disappear when the learner starts their second attempt.

Please let me know if this doesn't make sense!

Thanks for your help! :)

Hi APM!

Have a look at this tutorial for limiting the number of quiz attempts for your users!

It sounds like you would like the slide to reset to its initial state when retrying a specific question.

  1. In the slide properties, choose "reset to initial state" when revisiting.
  2. On your Try Again layer, change the trigger from "hide this layer" to "jump to slide (this slide)."

Instead of just hiding the layer, it will jump back to the beginning of the slide's timeline and reset all the objects!  That way, the answers won't be filled in already.

I hope that helps!

Hey Crystal,

Thank you so much for your help,  your suggestion fixed my problem!

I also have another question if you don't mind.

When I preview my Storyline file I get a grey menu that appears on the left hand side (see attached screenshot). This also appears when I load the exported file into my LMS.

Do you know if I can hide this menu?

I have set up my storyline with buttons to navigate through the slides and I don't want the users to be able to skip through multiple sides.

Thank you :)
