Resource attach issue
Apr 18, 2015
Hello there,
(1)
I attached PDF file in resource then I moved the soryline file to another PC and started publishing my course, after I tested it I found that I can't open the PDF file, however if I didn't move the original storyline file from created PC it's work, somehow the path changing.... Is there anyway to stop that because many employee work in the same file and should move it from PC to another.

I have problem with Arabic font, must be the letter in one word in the same line but that not happening, the last word in the line divided on two lines and that is wrong in Arabic word.
Thank you in advice.

Hi Islam
(2) please check your PC language is it in Arabic or English. if your PC language is in English then change in to the Arabic.
In storyline 2 there seems to be a bug where on publish it does not attach the files to resources if you move them from their original location or if you switch to another PC
Siva Chowdary,
Thanks for reply But im already typing in Arabic and the problem in the Arabic letter. thank u again.
Phil Mayor,
Yes, I think they should fix this problem.
Hi Islam,
Could you share an example of the problem you're experiencing with the Arabic letters showing how you're seeing it compared to what you'd want to see?
Hi Ashley,
I shared to you 4 photo examples with a comments about what I facing in Arabic font problems. Hoping you can solve it.
Thank You...
Hi Islam,
Thank you for sharing the screen shots. Are you using Storyline 1 or Storyline 2?
1. This appears to be the invalid answer text? This is a player set up, and you'll need to adjust the player to have right to left text as detailed here.
2. and 3. I'd like to see these items and I'm curious if you're only seeing it with Arabic fonts/language or if you see the same thing with non right to left languages that are still set up to show as right to left.
4. This is something that has been reported to our QA team previously, so I'll include this thread in the report filed so that I can keep you posted here once there is additional information to share. I don't have a timeframe to offer though.
If you'd like to share a copy of the .story file here we're also happy to take a look and share additional information with our QA Team.
Hi again,
I'm using Storyline2, and I sent .story file, all above issues happened after Publish.
For No. (1) Its already set up to right to left text in the player.
(2-3) Yes, its only show in Arabic letter "Right To Left", and its okay in English.
Thanks...
Hi All!
Articulate Storyline 2 Update 5 is now available for download. It includes WCAG 2.0 support, several new accessibility features, better HTML5 performance, and bug fixes. Click here for details:
Thanks Islam for sharing the file - and sorry it took me a few days to check it, but as Emily mentioned Update 5 was released, and that fixed the issue in your 4th image.
In regards to images 2 and 3, I see the "...text" behavior, but wrapping the titles allows everything to be visible for me. I tested this on Update 4 before installing Update 5. Do you know what update you're using to create your course content?
In regards to the issue in the 1st image, I see that using English text set to be right to left, it's not displaying as right aligned - but since I don't read Arabic, I'm unsure if that matches what you're seeing, or if the text is actually not appearing in the correct order? If so, do you have an image that compares the two text elements?

Hi Ashley,
After changing to the new UPDATE (thanks to Emily) it fix a lot of issues above, but the new update ignore the problem of the first image and I sent it again in this reply because it was not clear enough.
Thanks Islam - I just wanted to make sure the letters/characters were all still in the right order. I'm going to share this with our QA team for additional review, but I don't have a time frame to offer in regards to when I'll hear back from them, but I'll update the thread here once there is information so share.
