I have an course where I have files added under the Resources section of the player tab. I don't have the resources displayed on the player, but link to the files. In previous builds, it included the external files. It now looks like the external files are not included unless the Resources section is displayed.
Check the finished product's story_content folder to see if the files are in there. If they are, it may just be a security issue on your local computer keeping you from opening them within the final product.
Thanks for the reply. That's the weird thing. When the content publishes, it doens't produce a story_content folder with the files. If I manually create a story_content folder with the files, the files will load no problem. My frustration is that upon publishing the folder and files are not published.
Yeah, I've had funky things like this happen before. Did you by chance move the folder holding the resources during production? I did this once, and Storyline did not copy over the resources. I'm still using 1.0 (IT...), so that may have been the issue. Are you up-to-date?
Hi Jenny! Just wanted to pop in and ask how you are viewing the content? You want to test your content in it's intended environment by following the publishing/sharing article here. If you are trying to view locally, it may not work as you intended.

I got the same issue like you Jenny. I'm using the latest version of Storyline.
Therefore: Is it normal that external files are not included unless the Resources section is displayed?
