Restricting access to scenes based on quiz results

Dec 12, 2022

Hi there,

I have been trying to find resources on how to restrict access to individual scenes within a course based on what the user does in a quiz or other scenes but have been unsuccessful so far.

Is it possible to restrict access to certain scenes based on the results of a pre-quiz? Specifically, I want to give access to only one scene if they fail the quiz and give access to all other scenes in the course if they pass the quiz.

Further, is it possible to restrict access to scenes until users have viewed previous scenes?

I apologize in advance if the information is out there and I have simply not been able to find it. Any help is appreciated!

Hi Aletta Buehler, as far as I can say based on my previous experience, this can be done with the help of variables. Based on the results score you can allow the user to navigate to particular scene upon clicking on a button.

And yes, it's possible to restrict access to scenes/slides until users have viewed current/previous scenes by adding a trigger to the NEXT/CUSTOM button to disabled state upon timeline starts and then to normal state once the timeline has been completed.

Also you need to set the seek bar to read-only within the player settings. If the MENU has been enabled then do enable Restricted option within the additional options under the MENU tab.

Please let me know if you need any assistance going ahead.
