Retry quiz - only incorrect answers

I much anticipated this option of being able to redo ONLY the incorrect questions after a quiz. However, I have different types of students who do the modules in different situations. Some will want to only redo the incorrect questions but others will want the option to retake the entire quiz for practice (they may have used their notes the first time and want to retake it on their own the second or want to be sure they have the concepts down well). Consequently I was trying to install 2 retake quiz buttons - to have each option available. However, it keep crashing the system and both buttons only end up doing whatever was the latest one checked or unchecked for either. Help!

Hi Robin,
Thanks so much for sharing your file with me! It looks like the setting of one Retry button is carried over to the setting of the other Retry button. That shouldn't happen, so I'll share this with my team so we can begin investigating the cause.
You also mentioned that the buttons "keep crashing the system." Can you tell me more about that? Does this happen when you're editing the slide, or when you are previewing the course in Storyline? What exactly happens when the system crashes?
Thanks for investigating this - I hope it will work correctly.
When I was editing the Retry buttons, the error message from Articulate kept popping up saying something went wrong and asking what I was doing when that happened. I guess that was not a full fledged crashing the system so to speak but had to restart a couple times for this.
Thanks for that extra detail, Robin. It looks like you've run into two separate issues here:
Our team is reviewing both of these issues, and I'll let you know as soon as we get them resolved. I'm sorry for the headaches they have caused you!
FYI - I tried to have a retry button on the success results slide - again so students could practice more if they felt they needed it (some like to!) but it also was affected by the retry only incorrect questions on the failure slide. [Success measured as 100% score].
Thanks for the additional information, Robin.
Another member of our team shared that the Review/Retry settings are on a per-quiz basis, not per-button. So, the setting that has been selected for the Review button is for all Review buttons in the course and the setting for the Retry button is for all Retry buttons in the course.
I'm adding your additional note and this report is still open with our team for us to further investigate the behavior.
Drat - that isn’t good news. I am hoping there is a way for us to get more control and have both options on a quiz and choose those options by quiz. Thank you all for looking into it.
Hey Robin. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 24 for Storyline 360! It includes new features and fixes - check them all out here.
One of the fixes addresses an issue where manually adding a reset results trigger to your results slide caused Storyline to crash.
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. Let me know how you make out!
Thank you. I was adding a trigger to to add the option to review all questions in addition to a button with the option of reviewing only the missed questions. Does this fix that as well? Thank you.
Hi Robin,
I've gotten some more clarification from our Product team on that.
The Review/Retry settings are on a per-quiz basis, not per-button. In other words, there isn't a way to add 2 different Review buttons, where one has the "incorrect only" setting and one does not.
I've let our team know that you have this need and submitted it as a feature request on your behalf. Let me know if you have more questions about it!
Just to clarify - it is on a per quiz basis NOT a per module basis, correct? I could have 1 quiz one way then a second quiz another way?
Thanks
That's right, Robin – as long as each quiz has a separate results slide. Let me know if that answers your question!
