Retrying Questions

Nov 21, 2014

I am creating a course where the client wants the user to retry the question if they choose the wrong answer.  I have it all set up and everything is working fine...mostly.

When the user clicks the retry button, it takes them back to the question, and they can choose another answer, but the radio button is still pointing at the last answer they chose.  Is there a setting I can change to make the radio button turn off until they select a new answer?

Hello Debbie!

Are you using the number of attempts set to 2 within the question and having a Try Again feedback layer? Or are you using the retry quiz button on the Results slide?

If you are using the try again feedback to direct back, the radio button will still be marked. If you use the retry quiz button from the results slide, make sure the trigger to "reset results" is in place on the Retry button:

You can also share the file here if you would like us to take a look.

Thanks for your reply!

I'm using the number of attempts option.  I have it set to unlimited.  The Incorrect layer displays and says 'Try again'.  The user clicks the Continue button, which is tied to a trigger that hides the Incorrect layer.  So it shows the question slide, and they are able to select another answer, but the radio button they selected on the first attempt is still colored in.  The client wants it to go back to white, like it was when the user first visited the slide.  I have played with the When Revisiting Slide option and currently have it set to Reset to Initial State, but that doesn't seem to help.

Oh, wait!!!!  I just figured it out!  I added a trigger that switches the wrong answers' radio buttons back to Normal when the user clicks submit.

Thanks for letting me talk through my problem until I could solve it.

If you have other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
