Return navigtations for customised tabs

Jun 28, 2017

Hi I am developing a course which has 8 workshops (so very large) and I have customised 3 player tabs which allow learners to easily access specific scenes on demand from anywhere in the course. My dilemna is I want them to be able to automatically return back to the slide they accessed the customised tab from. Any ideas how to do this? The project is too large for setting individual triggers to all tabs to every page on the off chance that they select a tab from that page.

Hope someone can help

The previous trigger will take them back to the last place they, this would work if they do not change slides.

If not then you are going to have to track which slide they left using variables, it would need a trigger on every slide to set a slide number. and then add conditional triggers to return to a slide  based on that value. I don't think there is a simple solution, it is likely going to be a lot of triggers, it is possible though that you could build once and cut and paste across every slide, without seeing the project this may all be wrong.

Hi Julie,

As Phil shared, the previous trigger built onto the "previous" button will function like your browser back button. So it will take the user to the last slide they saw.

If you'd like to see something different, can you share a copy of your .story file? That would help the community see you're set up and test out some other solutions!
