Review Quiz Screen

Jun 24, 2013

The Review Quiz feature is very useful, but I couldn't find a way of turning off the display of the Correct/Incorrect layer. If you see the image you will see how it prevents the learner from reading the answer choices.

Thanks

Hi there Shanti!

There isn't a way to disable this or customize it, unfortunately. However, what you can do is place an object over the bar. For example, if you don't want to show anything in that area, you could create a blank, white object so it fits in with your slide background color. Or, you could create a custom shape with some type of content specific to your course or design.

I shared the steps in another thread, if you'd like to check it out:

change the color in the result review

Thanks Shanti!

Hi Shanti,

I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure what you're wanting to do, then - are you actually referring to the prompt and not the bar at the bottom? I don't see where the bar is actually covering any text, but I do see where the "Correct" prompt in the middle of the slide is covering the answers.

This is showing up because of the feedback layers or masters you have - this will happen whether or not you're using a question bank.

So, it looks like the feedback prompt isn't closing when the user leaves that slide. When the review returns to that slide to pull in the content, it's still open.

If you'd like to share the .STORY file here, I'd be happy to take a look at how you have this set up and see if I can get that layer to close.

Thanks!

Hi Christine,

Yes, I am referring to the prompt (or feedback layer). (See image ReviewQuiz - the crossed out layer is what I want to avoid..)

Since I can't share that file in a public forum, I created a new one. Strangely, that works just fine! The feedback layer does not show up so I can read all the text. See below. What settings control the display of this feedback layer in the review mode?

Is there a way

Hi Shanti,

What do you have for the revisiting settings in your original and the new course? It might help to check the question slide and the feedback layers to see if there's a difference between triggers and revisiting settings.

Again, though, it really does sound like that layer is not closing from the first attempt. On the "Correct" feedback layer, what's the order of your triggers? Can you take a screenshot of that?

If you'd like you can send the file over privately and request my attention :) Or you can put it up on Dropbox and send me the link in a private message.

Thanks!

Good morning Shanti!

I've been working on your file for a bit this morning and I think I finally found the issue. It looks like, at some point, there was a custom button (the green "Continue" button) added to the Feedback master for the questions. Now, this button only had one trigger (Jump to next slide..), no close or hide triggers and the custom buttons don't work very well when reviewing when they're on the actual master.

I'm guessing there were other issues too, because there were just far too many different versions of Feedback Masters. I removed a few of them and started from scratch. After I did this, I created the green "Continue" button, but this time I placed it on the actual "Correct" and "Incorrect" layers for the questions (thank goodness for Format Painter!). Everything seems to be working very well now when reviewing.

I'm going to email the updated file through the support case you submitted, so we can keep the file private :)

Thanks Shanti! Please let me know how it looks on your end.
