Review Quiz trigger
Oct 16, 2013
Hello --
The results slide of my course has a "Review Quiz" button, which should walk the learner through the quiz after completion to show them which questions they got correct and incorrect.
However, the course I'm working on now has a quiz question in the middle of the course. So, when the learner clicks "Review Quiz" on the results slide, it jumps them to the quiz question in the middle of the course and NOT the start of the post assessment.
In order to get to the post assessment questions, the learner has to click through all of the slides in between the quiz question and the post assessment.
Can you help?
Thanks.
Kelly

Hi Kelly:
This is normal when you have content slides in the middle of your quiz questions.
The easy solution is to remove that question from the Results slide tracking.
Another solution is to break it into 2 quizzes and set that last Results slide to collect a score from the results slides or each quiz.
Click the Suggest as answer button if this solves your problem. This will let others find the solution as well.

Hi Kelly,
I wanted to point you to this screenr by Justin where he has worked a solution out for that.
Hi Kelly:
I just helped another user with the exact same issue.
Have a look at this link: http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/38031/205183.aspx#205183

I see how you are skipping content but not sure how I make the Review Quiz button go to the POST ASSESSMENT questions NOT the Quiz within the content. Attached is my .story and what I'm trying to make the Review Quiz button do is ONLY review the POST ASSESSMENT #1 AND POST ASSESSMENT #2.
Please let me know how to do this.
thanks.

Hi Kelly:
I cannot find slides named Post Assessment #1 or #2. I found one layer on slide 1.2 that is named Post assessment, but that is it. Can you tell me the slide numbers you want the user to be directed to when they press the Review Quiz button on slide 1.35?
Sorry uploaded the wrong file -- here it is again -- really appreciate your help.
Hi Kelly:
On your QUIZ QUESTION - SHOULDN'T BE IN REVIEW SLIDE, add the SLIDE trigger displayed in this image.

This is the best solution I've found on this topic, but curious to know if this will work if I give more than one attempt at the quiz questions.
In other words, does "quiz attempts = question attempts"?
Thanks!
Hi Michael,
The quiz attempts functionality isn't built into Storyline - but can be set up using a variable or as mentioned above.
Each question does have the option to determine how many attempts the user has to answer - and they'll be presented with a "try again" layer if they answer incorrectly, until they've reached the maximum number of attempts (if it's set to unlimited they'll need to answer correctly before proceeding).
I think I answered my own question. Quiz attempts doesn't equal question attempt. I give the learner 3 attempts to answer the question, but only change the variable to "attempted" when the timeline on the results slide begins.
This community is invaluable. Thanks!
