Review Results not jumping to slide

May 03, 2017

Hi,

I have a Quiz Results slide with a "Review results" button. This button has a Review Results trigger when the user clicks.

When I publish to Articulate Review or launch from story.swf, this button jumps me back to the first Question in my quiz. However, when I launch from story.html or story_html5.html, the button does not jump me back. It looks like the button didn't do anything, but if I click on the quiz questions, I can see the feedback at the bottom of the slide.

Any suggestions on how to make this Review Results button jump me back to Question 1 consistently? I tried adding a "jump to slide" trigger after the "review results" trigger, but it still didn't work when viewing from story.html or story_htm5l.html

Thanks!

Hey there Kara,

Thanks for letting us know what's going on. Is your resume behavior set to "Never resume"? There is a known issue in Storyline 360 where the Review Quiz button will not work when you set your player to "Never resume" on restart when the content is viewed with HTML5.

What you're describing doesn't match that issue exactly, but it could somehow be affecting your file. Can you share your project file with me so I can take a closer look?

Hello Trish and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue as well, but it certainly helps with tracking users impacted and I will update this report.

That being said, I do not have an update to provide at this time. It's helpful to understand how we handle this process typically, so here is some information on how we tackle bugs.

The workaround we have listed:

  • Set the player to "Prompt to resume" or "Always resume" on restart.

I have the same problem in Storyline 3 and I am set to Prompt  to Resume. I get the Review Results trigger added automatically, but no Jump to the beginning of the assessment trigger. When I add the jump trigger manually, it works in preview, but it does not work when I publish. I haven't tried to build the whole button manually - I have only added a trigger manually to the Review button on the Results slide.

I have the exact same problem. My player is set on Always Resume. However, the Review results button doesn't do anything.

I even tried creating a test file with just 2 slides: 1 question and 1 result screen, including the review results button. Even that file didn't work. I publish to Scorm 1.2, for HTMl5 with flash fallback. And I tried it out by opening it directly from my computer.

EDIT: in Scorm cloud, the review result button works?!

Hi Sara!

Sorry that you've ran into a similar issue.

Sounds like you may have been testing locally and once you uploaded to the intended environment it is working as expected?

When you view a Storyline 360 course on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that can cause various features of the course to fail. To test your published content and share it with others, it's best to upload it to a web server or LMS. See this article for details.

Hi everyone!  We just released another update for Articulate 360, and included a few important fixes and new features that you'll see in the release notes here.

In this update, we fixed some quiz review issues in HTML5 output, including the Review Quiz button not working when the course was set to never resume.

Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application.

I know some folks in this thread mention they're using Storyline 3. We’re still working on a rolling out the fix for Storyline 3, and we’ll be sure to update you as soon as we do!

Let me know if you have any questions, or feel free to reach out to our support team!

Hey Sabine!

Not sure if you're looking for community feedback on how they work around needing to test content prior to uploading to your LMS?

We just cannot guarantee the content will work as expected and advise to view in the intended environment.

I do know that SCORM Cloud offers a free account with limited storage if you just need a place to post and take a peek. Otherwise, I'll defer to the community.

Hi Mark,

The issue where the Review button is not working when you set your player to "Never resume" on restart in the HTML5 output is fixed in Update 3 of Storyline 3. You'll need to download the update and republish your content to apply the fix.

If you're still seeing some odd behavior, can you share a copy of your .story file with us here?
