Revising Published Project

Jun 05, 2017

Hello --

I would like to amend a previously published project.  Intuitively, I thought that I would import it into a new project, and go from there.  But that doesn't seem to be working.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You will need to open the original .story file which is the Storyline project file. There is currently no way to take published content back into Storyline. If you need to change something very minor in the published output, that may be possible, but you won't be able to do it in Storyline without that original .story file.

Greetings, Paul!

There isn't a way to extract a source file from the published output at this time. Should anything change, we'll make sure you are the first to know!

For now, it might help to see if the .story file is in your temp files:

  1. Open this folder in Windows Explorer: %appdata%\Articulate\Storyline
  2. Scan the contents of this folder for a file that starts with the name of the project. If you find one, copy it to your desktop. If you find more than one, copy the latest version to your desktop.
  3. Change the file extension of the copy on your desktop from *.tmp to *.story.
  4. Double-click the file to open it in Storyline.

If there's anything else I can answer, I'll be here!
