Saving progress/resuming where you left off

I am building courses in storyline, and I want the user to be able to exit the course, re-open it, and resume where they left off with all previous changes saved. I know there is an option in the player to "prompt resume" or "always resume" on restart when running in LMS, and I also referred to this post here:

Both of these options didn't work for me however, and my storyline project restarted from the beginning when revisiting through my LMS. Any idea why?
