SCORM 1.2 erasing slide progress on return attempts on iPad

I have a scorm 1.2 package (non articulate mobile player) created in Storyline where it erases slide progress on return causing it to not get marked complete in the LMS or scorm cloud without having to go back through the slides again.
It only seems to happen on iPad browsers. Not on MAC or PC. Has anybody seen this or know what setting need to be changed?
This is what i'm seeing. Notice the outline on the left after viewing a few slides, closing the sco and coming back:
