SCORM in LMS - extra scroll bar

Nov 07, 2018

I'm still a beginner with Storyline and having problems with an extra scroll bar appearing in the player after publishing a SCORM project into the Moodle LMS.  The whole page of the project is not visible on the Moodle page unless the scroll bar is used (see screen shot attached with extra scroll bar identified).  I thought my settings prevented this problem occurring so if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong then this would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Pam

Hello Pam and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Thanks for reaching out. I've seen similar conversations in the forums before, but it seemed specific to the LMS.

Would you be able to upload your published file to SCORM Cloud to see if the issue happens there as well or if the issue is limited to your LMS?

If you need some help with that, feel free to share your .story file.

Hello,

I am creating a module with the story size set to 1024 * 768. And when the file is published and uploaded on Talent LMS, I see a scroll bar when the course is launched in the same page. This is not allowing the learner to navigate easily, as they are forced to scroll down everytime to click NEXT or PREVIOUS in the player. But this isn't the case when the module is launched on a separate window. I tried to many dimensions combination such as "1024_768" , "1334_768", "720_405, which is16:9", "1366_576", "_800_600", but nothing worked. :-(

Is there any specific story size that had to be set on storyline 360 to have the course published and hosted on Talent LMS, like moodle? I tried reaching out to Talent LMS support team, but they redirected me to you.

I dont think that there is any issue with the story size, as the course is very well r4esponsive. It is only the LMS that is requiring some specific "Height and Width" to fit my course in the screen. Please help. Attaching the screenshot for your reference.  Thanks for looking into this issue. Looking forward for your speedy response.

Hello Shabna and welcome to E-Learning Heroes 😊

Thanks for contacting us and sharing what you are experiencing with your published output.

I'm curious about what you have set for your Browser Settings and Player Size.

With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
