Screen cast cuts off and soes not diplsay entire cast

Jun 03, 2014

Hello,

A colleague of mine called me over to help he with a issue she was expericing with her screen cast. She scrubbed along the screen cast which showed the object fine on the time line, but when we previewed the slide, the last part of the screen cast did not play.  I tried the action fine tuning section to no avail (mind you I don't know how to work this properly).  I anyone has experience this previously, please help

Hi Cherie,

Does the screen cast stop at a particular point - or does it disappear completely from the slide? First, if Storyline is behaving oddly you'll want to check into the following:

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive).Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, includingfile corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory pathto your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters(for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents orsymbols in your file names.

You could then try to import the slide(s) with the screencast into a new Storyline file to resolve any issues with the file or screencasting itself.

If you're still having difficulty after checking into those items, it may help if we're able to see this .story file (again just the slide(s) with the effected screencast).  I don't believe it's something to do with the action fine tuning, but here is a tutorial on how to modify that.
