Screen recording in storyline 2

Hi i'm feeling really frustrated with a simple thing like screen recording:

1. When i open the project i want to record and click 'insert' then 'record screen' it just takes me to the next open window and when i try to access the project i want to record, it gives me an error message saying that my project is already open somewhere else. I can't seem to get past this.

2. I tried selecting 'record screen' from the main window in articulate (without opening any project). Here it allows me to record the screen of the project i want. However, after i'm done recording, it just stores the recording as a new project. How do i now insert this recording into another project?

Please help!

Hey Beverly, so sorry this is plaguing you! I can help. :)

Let me make sure I'm understanding your goal correctly. Are you trying to use the Screen Recording tool in Storyline to record a separate Storyline file?

Instead of recording a Storyline file in Preview mode, try this:

  • Publish the file to Web.
  • Upload the zipped output to Tempshare. 
  • Open the destination Storyline file, and click Record Screen.
  • Record the screen via Tempshare.
