Screen recording pauses when user clicks the slide

Jan 05, 2024

I'm creating a system simulation WBT using the screen recording feature in SL360. My audio is inserted separately (we use professional voice actors for our audio) and I've used the timeline to sync the audio with the screen recording. What I've noticed is that if the user clicks the screen after the slide has begun, it pauses the video but not the audio, so the recording is no longer synced. Or, after the slide completes if they click the slide the video replays without the audio.

Is there a simple way to ensure users cannot click the slide and pause the video? My project is quite large and has many screen recordings, so I'm hoping for a global setting, not having to put a transparent shape over every video...if possible.

Thanks

Hey Melanie,

One common approach is to cover the video with a "HotSpot".  This will serve as a mask and not let the video be selected.

If you do not want to add the hotspot, you can change the video option to play from a trigger and then create the trigger to play the media when the timeline starts.  Videos that set to play from a trigger will not be paused when clicked.
