Screen shot / Results slide

Jan 28, 2014

Is there any way of capturing a static screenshot of a user's previous responses? I have done this using Lightbox and a Results Silde, but each time the Back and Next button remain 'live' so the users can begin clicking through the whole course again - which is confusing for them.

HI Jorinde,

An actual "screenshot"? No - I can't think of a way that you'd be able to do this.

You could, however, create a mock-up slide that may work. For example, you could create a slide that looks just like the question slide and using variables, triggers and states you could display the options the learner selected.

I'm a little confused as to why you'd want to do this, however, instead of a review for the quiz.

If you have trouble with this, perhaps a little more detail on what you'd like to accomplish would be helpful :)

Thanks!

I have used a Likert Scale to ask users to reflect on their ideas at start of the course and then would like them to be able to see their original responses (to see whether any of their ideas have changed or been reinforced by the content and activities)at tthe end. The Lightbox idea works well in that it shows their original responses but with the next and back buttons remaining 'live' they can start moving around the course on Lightbox screen which could be very confusing.

I hope that makes more sense.

Hi there Jorinde,

Thank you for the additional information, I think I have a better understanding of what'a happening now :)

I believe you may have the navigation controls enabled for the lightbox. If you disable these, the "Next" and "Previous" buttons will no longer be available. This should stop any confusion for learners reviewing their responses.

Here's an example of how it would look without the controls:

Example for Jorinde

First, you'll want to make sure that the slide containing your Likert Scale is set to "Resume Saved State". You can do this by clicking on the "cogwheel" on the base layer of that slide:

Now, for the navigation options on the lightbox, you'll want to check the main trigger that's calling the lightbox. Double-click on that trigger to open it. From here, you'll seen an option for "Navigation Controls". Uncheck that option and click OK.

Let me know if that does the trick :)

Thanks!
