Screencast problems - audio and user control

Jun 13, 2016

I have a screencast on a slide. I recorded the audio separately. When I preview or publish, the screencast and the audio start automatically and are sync'd (which is what I want). However, the user can click on the screen to pause the screencast and then the audio file is not sync'd correctly with the screencast.

I've seen two options from previous posts:

1) put a transparent layer over the screencast so the user can't click it

2) add a trigger to pause/resume the audio when the screencast is clicked

I'm not happy with either solution. Is there a way to either

(a) import my audio into the screencast so they are one object so they are treated as one object or

(b) remove the ability for the user to click the screencast without covering it with a transparent object or layer (since these items are not technically needed and add bloat to my project)?

Thank you.

Hi, Beth -- Thanks for reaching out! Aside from the solutions you have already mentioned in points 1 & 2, I am not aware of different methods to suggest that will work for what you have described, but perhaps others in the community may have tried to accomplish something similar and can share some ideas to assist. And you are always welcome to post over in our Building Better Courses forum, as well!
