Sending Freeform Questions to a Recipient

Mar 27, 2023

Hi,

I am working on a scenario based eLearning module in Storyline. We give the participant a scenario and ask them to type out how they would handle the situation. So, we are using Freeform questions to let them respond to each scenario. Is there a way I can have their responses submitted to a specific person or email (aka a SME) who can provide feedback to each learner? If so, how would I do this?

Hi Courteney!

It sounds like you are trying to export Storyline 360 free-form quiz responses to a specific individual. I’d be happy to help!

Unfortunately, there is no direct, built-in way to achieve that with Storyline 360 tools. However, there are some third-party options available you might want to try out!

  • One option would be publishing the course to an LMS. Your SME could access the LMS and review the results that way (this would be dependent on what specific LMS is being used).
  • Another option is having the learner send their responses via e-mail, then the feedback would have to be provided via an e-mail response as well. This method would involve some Javascript code to be added to the course. This forum discussion can walk you through that!
  • Lastly, embedding a Google document can be implemented to gather/e-mail feedback. This forum discussion provides some helpful steps on how to do that!

If those options don't do the trick, perhaps one of our knowledgeable community members can provide additional suggestions!

Hope this helps. Thanks for reaching out!
