Sequence drag and drop SL3

Apr 28, 2019

Hi, I have created a quiz that has sequence drag and drop questions and multiple choice questions.  The review of the quiz does not show the correct sequence when the user chooses the incorrect sequence.  In the review, some questions show correctly with answers with GREEN numbers for the correct sequence and RED for incorrect sequence.  However, some questions show all black numbers in the review and are in the wrong sequence.  I published this in the CD format.  Please review my attached story file.  What am I doing wrong?

Where can I find tutorials, templates or guidelines on these type of questions?

UPDATE:  I discovered that if I only use one sequence drag-and-drop question in a quiz, the review works like it is designed - the sequence is shown with RED and GREEN numbers to indicate the correct sequence.  This appears to be a programming issue (bug).  This occurs on my desktop computer and my laptop!

I am still looking for tutorials, discussions or examples that use the sequence drag-and-drop type of questions.

Thanks,

Vic

Hi Vic,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your .story file so that I could take a look.

I did some testing and it seems to be specific to sequence drag and drops that are back-to-back. I added a blank slide between slide one and two and the review worked as intended.

I'll get this reported to my team to take a closer look.

Hi Victor,

I have not seen a similar issue reported, so I assume folks are not running into this.

I assume for a couple of potential reasons:

  • It's specific to sequence drag and drops that are back to back
    • For users with them scattered throughout their course, they are probably not running into the same error.
    • They may not allow quiz review and therefore never see the issue.

This conversation is attached to the report so we can update you here when we can.

I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.

Hello Leslie,

Today I ran into problems while 'reviewing' a quiz which has one 'match the following/drag and drop'.  Everything works fine except:

While reviewing, the 'drag and drop' quiz does not show up.  Even when I add 'Review Layer' it does not show up. It just freezes, not allowing users to go back and forth.

Please could you take a look.  Do you have a spot where I can upload the Storyline 2 file?

Many thanks,

Indrani

An update.

Everything works in 'preview' mode. However, things get messy in both Chrome/IE.

1) I cannot move back/forward before or after the drag/drop question

2) The screen freezes.

3) I tried within the LMS and the same thing happens.

Any help will be fantastic and so very helpful.

Thanks so much.

Hi Indrani,

You can always share files directly with our Support Team by using the submit a case page. If you'd like to share in E-Learning Heroes you can upload here for everyone by clicking the Add Attachment button.

Since you're using Storyline 2, I'm also curious if you've isolated the issue to Flash or HTML5 output. Keep in mind that with Storyline 2, the HTML5 output would only be supported in Chrome.

Let me know if you send along to the team - happy to follow along as they test!

Hello Indrani,

Thanks for the additional information and sharing your .story file.

I'm seeing the same behavior you are reporting here, but I think it's best if one of our support engineers takes a look.

I've opened a support case on your behalf and you should be hearing from someone soon.

You can Edit your reply above to remove your course if needed as well.

Hi,

has any progress being made on this issue, because I'm still experiencing it.

It's a problem for me because I work in industry where we have a lot of processes which require things have in a particular sequence.

So not being able to test an individual's understanding of this is really frustrating.

I look forward to your response

Hi Cameron!

We are still seeing this behavior in Review 360 with Storyline 3 courses that include multiple sequence drag and drop slides. We've reported this bug to our team but I don't have an update to share yet. We are currently prioritizing other bug fixes and features. We'll follow up here if our team adds this to our product roadmap.
