Shapes or images make preview crash

Sep 12, 2019

Sometimes random shapes or images make the preview function crash.

I'm editting normally, and when I try to preview the single slide, I get the error report pop up. I close it, and the preview loading bar is still there. I have to cancel to get back. Now, if I want to preview, the button doesn't work. I have to either close it and open it again or go to the story view and select to view a whole preview (which won't work because of the slide that doesn't work).

There's no specific criteria for this to happen. It's usually a shape or an image, which sometimes I copy from another slide which has no problem previewing.

It's really irritating because I have to halt everything to try and find the culprit. And just as it won't let me preview, it won't let me publish either.

If I open the project again and delete the troublesome element, I can preview no problem, but sometimes I need that shape or image because it's an important part of the slide, and sometimes even making it again from scratch will make the function crash.

I have attached a screenshot of the error message, the error report which is linked in the pop up and a storyline file with the troublesome slide which I isolated (if it happens with another slide, I'll attach it too).

Please help.

Hello Mica,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details of what you are running into as well as the project file so that we could take a look.

I'm seeing the same error, so I've opened a support case on your behalf so that you can work directly with one of our support engineers.

You should be hearing from someone soon.
