There is a sidebar on the project when we publish it to the website that indicates each slide in the presentation (it says Menu on the top and lists all the slides below). Is there any way to get rid of this sidebar?
If you select the Home tab across the top of your page, click on Player within the Publish group of optionsto open the player properties and Features on the far left should be open by default.
Within Player Tabs, you will see Menu, Glossary and Notes under the Sidebar heading. Click to de-select all that are checked (though it sounds like only Menu is checked) and this will close the sidebar - it only becomes active in the player if you are displaying anything in it.
