SL 2 Video lag/loading issue

Jan 28, 2016

Hi all,
I've ran into a problem working with my latest video project.

The first slide is an instruction slide 5 seconds long with no audio and a button appearing at 4 seconds asking users to advance to the next slide. Slide 2 is my video slide, I have a video of an author giving instructions and at specific times in the video I have layers appearing with examples.

As the author wants to display the examples they hold out there hand in the video and asks users to click an examples button, which fades in and out at the specific times to view each example layer.

It all works perfectly in preview and for local publish, when I upload to the LMS the video lags/doesn't preload properly which pushes on the timeline but not play the video so when it comes to the button being displayed on the video it appears out of sync.

As the timeline has advanced it also cuts the end of the video.

In the player I also only allowed the seek bar to be read only to prevent users scanning through the video as this also seemed to cause an issue with syncing.

Has anyone encountered this issue and have a solution?

Hi, Jonathan -- Thanks so much for reaching out with your question and sorry to hear of your difficulties! As you mentioned testing in your LMS, may I ask if you are seeing the same behavior when you test your course in the SCORM Cloud, as well? You may find this article, How to Troubleshoot Your LMS with SCORM Cloud, to be helpful as well.

Please let us know if issues continue and if you do not encounter the same behavior in the SCORM Cloud as you find in your LMS, you may want to contact your LMS provider for their input, as well.
