SL3 - Submit button doesn't work in LMS!

Feb 03, 2020

Hi all,

After creating a course and publishing on "an older version" of LMS, I discovered that clicking the Submit button in the quiz does not advance the user to the next question, it just sits there.

In troubleshooting, I found that questions linked to a Results slide don't function properly, while others work as expected. I have added more triggers, changed the timeline... whenever there's a link to Results, the Submit button stops working.

- Course published using HTML5 only and Flash only, both show the same problem.
- Older courses created by ex-employees still work fine.
- Our LMS implementation is managed by a team that's very busy to troubleshoot on their end.
-My version of SL3 is 3.9.21069.0

Your assistance is appreciated.

Ray!

How frustrating. The "Submit" trigger should advance to the next question/slide if there's no feedback to show. That's how Storyline 3 works for me whether I include a Results slide or not.

I suggest you submit a case to the Articulate folks, and include your file (or, at least, the quiz part). They're quite responsive.

Hi Wendy,

Thank you for reaching out and inquiring more about this!

After reviewing the case, it is possible that the issue is isolated to the LMS since we were not able to reproduce the behavior. With that in mind, we are more than happy to review your file! Would you be able to share your course with us for further troubleshooting?

You can share files to this thread or you’re always welcome to share them privately here. We'll let you know our findings and will delete it after having a closer look!

Hey Wendy,

Seems like we're having the same problem. I didn't want to upload our internal course so I created a small course of a couple of slides, then added a question that reports to LMS with a Submit button, and uploaded that to the SCORM cloud where it worked perfectly but still no luck on our internal LMS! Which means it's either the way SL3 reports to older versions of LMS, or that our LMS implementation is the problem..

Hopefully someone will figure out a workaround as the course is useless without proper functionality right at the end..
