I'm having the exact same issue. My xliff files are importing up to a point before crashing. Everything after the crash appears in the original language, with everything that was imported prior to SL crashing appearing in the translated language.
I seem to be encountering some display issues at the point of failure too, with text and images disappearing from the screen but remaining on my timeline.
