Slide Advancement - Timeline
Feb 02, 2017
I am rebranding an existing story which involved new layouts (so colours and fonts) and a few out of date company references. Otherwise, the story remains unchanged. For some reason the slides will not advance until the end of the timeline (5 seconds) in preview mode or when published. The current version of this course does not behave this way. Slide properties are set to advance slides by user, there are no transitions so I don't know why this revised story is behaving this way. I'd appreciate some advice on fixing this. Thank you in advance!

I have no suggestions as to how this might have happened, but your description of the symptoms is very similar to what you might see if the navigation is set to restricted, instead of free. You can fix this in the menu.
Hi Walt, I checked this and the navigation is set to free but thank you for the suggestion!
Hmm - that would have been my first assumption as well Darlene. Would you be able to share the .story file for us to take a look and let us know the slide you are having difficulty with?
Hi Leslie. It's all slides, not just one which a colleague suggested might indicate a browser problem but when I open another .story file that I've also been working on in the same browser, it works just fine. My colleague also suggested creating a new file and copying the slides over (but not the title slide in case that's where the glitch was). I tried this and it fixed the advancement of the slides but caused a number of other issues including messing up formatting of slides that were created using Quizzing & Templates. And I couldn't seem to fix these new issues and so I abandoned that idea :(. Here's the .story file. Thanks for your help!
Darlene,
Here's what I found when I opened the file you attached.
This may be the new file, but changing to free let me advance from the title slide at any moment.
Well Walt, I don't know what to say lol. You are right! I made the change and it worked. I must have checked it in my dreams before because I was sure that I had checked it on more than one occasion! But it is fixed and so I will let it go. Thanks so much for your help!
It happens - glad Walt was able to assist you here Darlene :)
Thanks Leslie!
