Slide layer issue

Hi, I have inherited a Storyline file and I can see when I play it there are slide layers but when in usual edit mode there is a big red cross (please see attached) where the layers usually show.  Is there a setting I have clicked by mistake causing them not to show for me to make changes?  Many thanks in advance

Hey Melanie,

That's not what I'd expect to see, so I'm happy to help investigate with you! 

I have a few questions to help narrow down the cause here:

  1. What version of Storyline are you using, and are you running the latest update for your version?
  2. Have you tried importing your slides into a new file to see if that resolves it?
  3. Is your file saved directly to your desktop or C:Drive rather than to a network/shared drive?
