Slide Transitions - Keep some objects static?
Nov 01, 2016
Hi all,
I have a project where, for branding purposes, we've added a custom navigation bar rather than using the built-in bar in the player. This nav bar with the logos is located on the slide master, and the prev/next buttons are added to each slide since many of them need to be hardcoded to different scenes or slides depending on variables.
Because the navigation bar is on the slides rather than built into the player, 'Push' transitions cause the bar and buttons to fly in and out of the slides along with all of the other slide contents. Is there any way to lock some objects in place so that they are 'immune' to the transition?
My other option is to eliminate push transitions altogether and opt for only fades, but I like the look of the push so I wanted to ask before eliminating it.
Thanks!
Amy
P.S. I'm using Storyline 2.

Hi Amanda! Since it's on the slide stage, there is not a way for the item to be present if you have a slide transition to make the slide appear. Not sure of a workaround for this or if someone in the community has a better idea for your design need.
Thanks for your reply, Leslie. That's what i figured. I didn't see any workarounds in any other conversations on this, but since all of those threads are at least 2 years old I thought I'd check again.
No worries Amanda - sorry I couldn't offer more ideas.
