I have created some sliders and they have been working OK for me. However I now understand that this is because when I was testing I was holding down the button. When I had some user testing they released the button when arrived at first layer revealed and the button no longer worked. The same issue has occurred with a dial.
What is the fix for this? I would like the users to be able to release and restart as many times as they like on the slider (or dial) without it freezing up and not working.
A slider or dial should still be draggable after a user releases it.
I suggest you check the Slide Layer Properties. It sounds like the "Prevent the user from clicking on the other layers" checkbox is selected. For your interaction, that checkbox shouldn't be selected. (If it is selected, the user can't interact with anything on the base, because the base is included in the "other layers.")
Sorry to hear you've run into this snag. Happy to help!
Thanks for the heads up that you have double-checked the Slide Layer Properties, as Judy mentioned earlier. Do you see this behavior happening if you try this in a brand new .story file?
When you get the chance, please upload your current .story file to this thread or privately in a support case so we can take a closer look at your setup!

Thankyou sooo much Judy. That has fixed it for me. I appreciate your help x
I have the same problem. The 'prevent user from click other layers' is not checked.
If the user drags the slider and releases, it works once, but not twice. (just updated to latest storyline version).
The slider works once.
