Slider setting "Update when learner releases" fails in HTML5

Sep 12, 2016

Hi, all,

I have been trying something new with sliders, but I found a problem in HTML5 export. If I set the slider setting to "Update when learner releases" in does not work. It behaves just like "While slider is dragged". Here you can see the exported sample:

Staff, can you confirm this behavior?

Hi Nejc- Thanks for reaching out here, I see what you're describing in the link you provided. Could you confirm that you're running the latest update for Storyline 2 (Update 10) and publishing your course using that version? You can check which version you're running by selecting Help > About Articulate Storyline. If you're on the latest update and still seeing this, would you mind sharing your project file here so I can do some testing? You can add it as an attachment right to a comment in this thread. Thanks!

Hi Nejc, thanks for reporting this. I created a file similar to yours just with two sliders in one slide; one set to `While slider is dragged`, the other with `When learner releases`. I`m seeing the same issue in HTML5, on a desktop (in Chrome and IE) as well as on two mobile devices. I am running the latest SL2 version.

Thanks Nejc for bringing this our attention and thank you Michael for confirming as well! I did some testing on my end and was able to reproduce what you're both describing. I've submitted this issue to our Quality Assurance team for their review. Unfortunately, at this time I was unable to determine a workaround. I can't speak to a time frame for when or if this issue will be resolved but I've added this thread to the report. Since you're both subscribed here, you'll  receive notifications of updates when applicable. If either of you would being willing to share your test project files, I'll also include those in the report.
