Slides missing in a published project

Sep 24, 2013

Hello. Suddenlu a storyline project that is already published on a cms (it was pubished in may 2013)  started to behave starnge: People are reporting abot missing slides and that the slides aren´t in the right order any longer. We can of course  ttry to publish the project again. Espacially this time because I am in the company working with another project)

BUT why is this happening? And most important: How can I avoid it? (It is really embarrasing for the business when my e-learnings dont work as they are meant to do, and my customers are of course irritated . It is also extrajob for me)  Thank You and hope you can help me!

Hi Maja,

This sounds very strange that the published version is suddenly changing, but it sounds like something happening within the CMS that you've published too. Is there a team who can let you know if there were any recent updates or changes that would cause this behavior? If not, I would suggest trying to publish again and remove the older version that is causing difficulty. It doesn't sound like it's something happening within your original .story file though.

Hi Maja,

Is the video not playing within your course?

I wanted to point you to this screenr on how to insert the Camtasia videos which is a part of this thread on optimum settings for running Camtasia within Storyline. If you think it's something happening within your LMS, you may want to test it within SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for testing your course. If you're still unable to see your video there, can you please connect with our Support team and share your Storyline file.

Hi Maja,

When you go to the SCORM Cloud site, you'll need to set up an account (it's free) and then once you do that you'll be able to add your content on the right hand side with a box that looks like this:

Once you add your content, you'll be able to test it from within there, as if it were an LMS. Run through it like normal, and see if the behaviors that are being reported to you are also happening in SCORM Cloud - if so, send your files along to our Support team and we'll check it out. If the SCORM Cloud version works fine, you'll then be able to connect with your team and let them know that it's functioning as expected within an industry standard testing site.

Thank You. iItried to read abot SCORM . Do I understand it right that if you always upload your file threw scorm and than to you lms you wont have to upgrade your files whenever thers a update on for example flash? its of course a problem if  you always have to upload your files over again whenever they upgrade a program. Especially when the people that bought my e-learning arnetn that clever with lms or cms. They get very afraid and irritaded.

Or is there any other way to avoid those problems?

Hi Maja,

SCORM Cloud would just be a testing place to ensure that everything will work when loaded into your LMS. There are other options on the Scorm website for other services they offer - but I was only referencing SCORM Cloud for testing purposes to see if the problem you're encountering was occuring in the .story file or within your LMS.

The Flash version that you referenced is up to date, and one of the versions we support. If you're able to connect with our Support team they'll be able to look at your Articulate Online account and see if anything else is happening there.
