Some students lose bookmarks in D2L Brightspace

We're having one of those hard-to-reproduce problems with bookmarking. Most course content (Articulate --> SCORM --> import to Brightspace) retains a memory of where students got to in their content. But every now and then a student reports losing all his/her record of progress. In the case I'm currently investigating, the browser is Chrome (we thought Edge was implicated in an earlier one). Any ideas?

It sounds like the Prompt to Resume setting is enabled in your Player Properties, but the course isn't resuming correctly for some learners in Chrome and Edge within the D2L LMS. Is that right?

If so, can you help me these key details? 

  • What update of Storyline are you using? To find this detail, click the Help tab > click About Storyline
  • What happens when the affected students resume the course – does the course restart, do they see the 'Would you like to resume where you left off' message at any point, or something else?
  • What version of Chrome and Edge are those students using? A quick and easy way to capture those details is to ask your users to go to http://supportally.com/

Hi-

It's two years later. I'm encountering this issue with SL360 courses on BrightSpace. Prompt to Resume is turned on. I confirmed this is working by loading the course to SCORM Cloud.

I even tried adding an Exit Course button with an Exit Course trigger and that did not work on BrightSpace. So this LMS doesn't seem to be able to handle this function.

Any ideas?
