I just found out that you can no longer insert a YouTube video into a Storyline 2 course using the insert video/video from website option. I can insert using insert/ web object option, however this opens the YouTube website in a new window (which is not what I really want). Does anyone know of a way around this?
You're correct- as of May 2015, Google no longer allows YouTube videos to be embedded in that manner. As you mentioned, you can still add YouTube videos to new projects using web objects as described here, and they'll work in Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player output.
When you add a web object, you'll also have the option to choose whether to display it in the slide or view it in a new browser. If you choose Display in Slide, it should play right in the same window. See the screenshot below:
Always happy to help, Carol. I also wanted to let you know that when you reply via email your signature is included in the post. You're welcome to pop in here and edit out that info if necessary :)
