Start and Stop Video at a particular point in the Timeline

Sep 21, 2014

How can I get to Start and Stop an MP4 Video already inserted in a slide at a particular point in the Timeline.

I copied the slide twice and in the first slide I shortened the timeline to get it to stop at minute 6:44

In the second slide I want it to start at minute 6.45

Is there anyway to do this without editing the video into 2?

Hi Phil! You mentioned copying the video but not wanting to split it in 2? Do you want the video on one slide or split across two slides?

If you want everything on a single slide, one way you can pause a video and then resume it at specific points on the timeline is to use an off slide object. I've attached an example where I have added a shape and moved it off the screen so it doesn't appear on screen. Then I adjusted the start and end time of the object to correspond the the timing of when you want the video to be paused. By adding a trigger to Pause video when the timeline of the shape starts and a 2nd trigger to play the video when the timeline of the shape ends you can get the effect you want. (Assuming I'm understanding correctly)
