If you want everything on a single slide, one way you can pause a video and then resume it at specific points on the timeline is to use an off slide object. I've attached an example where I have added a shape and moved it off the screen so it doesn't appear on screen. Then I adjusted the start and end time of the object to correspond the the timing of when you want the video to be paused. By adding a trigger to Pause video when the timeline of the shape starts and a 2nd trigger to play the video when the timeline of the shape ends you can get the effect you want. (Assuming I'm understanding correctly)
