I have not been able to get a single trigger to work that uses the language "when the state of X is X." Specifically I am trying to get a text box that lays on top of an object to follow the state of that object. Is there a trick to this? Thanks!!
I've had issues with using triggers on state changes too. What I've done is change the language.
Ex: Change state of Y if X is equal to Normal
I would change that to
Change state of Y if X is not equal to Selected.
For some reason if though logically they would be the same (in this case it would be for buttons or objects with a selected state) it the first option doesnt work but the second one does.
@Jerson, thanks for the suggestion! I will try that.
@Emily, I am working on a remote machine so that might be part of the problem. I don't really have another option at the moment, but I might try and do finishing touches on a real PC.

Have a look at the attached file and see if that provides some insight. I change the state of a textbox, based on the state changes of a rectangle.
Hi Michael,
Thanks... I actually did the same thing in my story but it didn't take. I'm not sure why. I'll keep trying.

I 'm having the same problem with the Normal State not being identified properly. Other states works fine.
I haven't had much luck using the Normal state in conditions. I always use the negation, e.g. is not Normal or is Selected as Jerson suggested.
