Still getting Flash error after converting Storyline 2 projects to Storyline 3

Mar 08, 2021

I have quite a few projects that were created using Storyline 2. I'm upgrading to Storyline 3 and converting those projects.  However, when I upgrade the project to Storyline 3 and then use the publish to CD function, I'm still getting a Flash error when I try to run the published project.

Also, when I look at the story_content folder for the published project, there are still files in there that are listed as Shockwave Flash Objects.

Has anyone else encountered this and have a solution?

Thank you!

Hello J.T., and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! ⭐️

So sorry this Flash error is slowing you down, and I appreciate you sharing details of your experience!

First, a great call to scan the story_content folder for SWF files. Because Storyline 3 courses published for CD are HTML5-only, it’s possible that there are Flash movies (SWF files) in your projects.

Here’s another tactic for us to try:

  • Remove or replace any Flash files with non-Flash ones, such as MP4 files, before republishing. To learn how the end of Flash affects Articulate apps and courses, check out this article.
