I am using Storyline 1 and trying to import a Go To webinar recording in .WMV format into a course. I keep getting an error message saying my "windows media player & apple Quick time need updating, along with the required codecs." However, my programs were just updated. Suggestions?
Are you receiving this error when you add the file in as shown here? Or are you having an issue outside of Storyline perhaps once the content is published? If you have files to share, that may be helpful as well.
Hi Leslie!
I was having issues while inserting the video into a slide-as shown in your pic . However I just upgraded to Storyline 2, and the video inserted & works fine. Not sure what the problem was with Storyline 1?
Hi, I'm having the same issue as described above. I receive the error message when I try to import a .wmv file as described your link above. I use SL1 but our company isn't upgrading to SL2 any time soon, so I need another workaround.
Note: the .wmv file plays fine in my media player, but SL doesn't want to take it for some reason.
I'd love to share the wmv file, but due to company rules, I can't. Thinking I may try another option for this movie instead, but if you have any advice for next time around, please let me know!
Thanks Leslie. I did read that documentation and didn't expect to get an error message - so it is strange. This wmv file was originally converted from a wrf file - not sure if that makes a difference. If it happens again with a file I can share, I'll be sure to post.

Interesting. Thanks for the update Denise and glad to hear that it is now working for you. Hope you enjoy Storyline 2! :)

Hi Anna!
Would you be able to share the file for me to take a look?

Hard to tell without seeing it happening or understanding the issue. Our documentation states that wmv files will convert to mp4.
