Storyline 2: Feedback Masters
May 10, 2017
I followed the tutorial on Adding feedback masters and successfully added my new feedback lay to the feedback master. However, when I insert the layout, it sits on top of the existing layout AND it does not include the triggers I have in my custom feedback master. Here is what I did:
- Select the question slide
- Select the INCORRECT layer
- On the HOME screen, select layout then select my custom "Incorrect" layout
- The custom layout is inserted over the top of the existing layout without the new triggers.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Vic

Hi Vic
can you share your file - makes it easier for people to help you if they can work with how your file is setup.
Here is a sample storyline 2 file with just the quiz. I was trying to insert a new feedback into question #1 using the steps shown in my first message. As noted, the background from the new layout (Roll-Back 1) selected from the feedback master, just plops in on top of the existing layout. the buttons are now active and the triggers shown on the feedback master are not carried over. It appears that this method just copies the new feedback as a graphic and puts it on top of the existing layout.
I'm sure I am doing something wrong!
Vic, you aren't doing something wrong, this happens to me as well.
Hi Victor,
Thanks for sharing your file. Instead of building a new 'Roll-out' feedback layout, have you tried formatting the Incorrect Feedback layout with the elements from the 'Roll-out' layout?
How did you build the feedback layers on slides 1.2 - 1.4?
Alyssa, yes I have tried incorporating the elements from the "roll-Out" layout into the Incorrect Feedback layout with the same results. When I select that layout it comes in as a background graphic with no buttons/triggers.
I created the feedback layers for slides 1.2-1.4 by starting with the default incorrect layout, deleting the buttons and triggers, then inserting the new review-continue buttons. Then I edited the triggers for the those buttons. I did that for 1.2 then, deleted the default incorrect feedback on slide 1.3-1.4, and copied the incorrect layer (roll-back) to those slides.
It appears that the method suggested in the tutorial does not work in Storyline 2.
Hi Victor,
Thanks so much for those details. I see that you opened a case (01072945), and Abel is testing your file now. We're working together to determine what's causing this issue. You'll hear back from Abel shortly!
