Using Storyline 2. Entry and Exit animations have the option of setting it to "None", but with Motion animations there is no "None" option - once you've added a motion animation, there's no way to get rid of it. I have to delete the object and start over.
you should be able to click on the animation path and just delete that not have to delete the object as well. In example below the original blue object remains once I delete the motion path - is that what you mean?
