Storyline 2 Seekbar not working like it should...

Aug 27, 2015

I have a Storyline 2 project that contains one slide. One of the elements of the timeline is a .swf file which contains audio. When I publish the project with the Seekbar option checked off I get a seekbar on the final project however it doesn't work properly. Anywhere I click on the seekbar the video file starts at the beginning. Sometimes I get double audio happening at the same time. Very bizzare! I've used seekbar with Sroryline before and never hada problem. Is SL2 the reason? Anyone else experience this?

Thanks,

Lou

Thanks Lou for sharing the file here. I saw that you had the seekbar enabled from the player, so I turned that off and just published the first slide where the SWF file was (uploaded it here to SCORM Cloud).  I didn't see any seekbars added back into that copy of the published output.

Since you've inserted them as Flash files, they are not longer synced with the timeline and as such can't use the seekbar or the player volume controls. Here's how to determine which way you should insert Flash files:

  • If your SWF file is a movie that requires no interaction from users, you can use the Insert > Video > Video from File option, which synchronizes the video with the slide's timeline.
  • If your SWF file contains interactive elements, you will probably want to use the Insert > Flash option described below, which will play the SWF file independently of the slide.

Hope that helps clarify and feel free to let us know if you have any other questions.
