Storyline 3 - Player Sidebar

Dec 09, 2020

Hello people,

I've just about finished developing a little module (using AS36) on Risk Assessments. Throughout the module, I have included some basic logic that prevents learners from 'skipping' through pages (or even entire scenes).

I've switched on the Menu option within the player and now realise that learners can in fact skip pages (or even entire scenes) by using the menu options on the left.

Can someone please tell me if there is a way to luck this down?  I'm happy for learners to navigate back to review content but no way should they be allowed to skip forward.

Many thanks for this.

Anthony.

Hi Anthony,

I had assumed you were using SL3 as you had put that in your topic title, but the process is just the same in SL360.

All you need to do is to select the Home tab from the menu at the top of the screen, then select the Player button at the right hand end of the Home options, then select the Menu option in the Player Properties dialogue box and finally click on the Additional Options (gear wheel) button at the bottom of the dialogue box. This now gives you the option to set the navigation restrictions:
