I'm happy to help! Thank you for providing files to test as well. I've tested your course using JAWS 2020 and Chrome, and I see the same behavior. Only the first part of the text is highlighted. However, I've tested this using NVDA, and the entire text box is highlighted when using that screen reader. Here's a screenshot.
I'll share this with my team to determine if this is an issue within Storyline 3 or JAWS. I appreciate you taking the time to share this with us!
I've confirmed with my team that this is actually a snag within JAWS. The button controls are highlighted in full, but the text boxes aren't. It might be worth checking if this behavior occurs in previous versions of JAWS too. Lastly, this behavior isn't happening in NVDA, so if you have learners who rely on the focus highlight, they might consider using NVDA.

Hi Lauren,
My learns to rely only on JAW 20 and are not equipped with NVDA.
your team has fixed this issue in storyline 360 a few months back but I need this issue to be fixed in storyline 3.
Thanks
I'm happy to share this request with my team! I'll report back if this makes it on our roadmap for Storyline 3.
