Storyline

May 31, 2023

Hello,

I am fairly new to Storyline and I am working on a large project for an internal customer. We are adding narration from an outside source which I having no issues except when it comes to layering. If I narrate the base layer and also the other layers the base layer narration is "talking" over the others. I have not figured out how to manage it on the timeline? Also, can you control when the narration will run on layers let's say as the learner is on one layer and happens to click the next layer once again both narrations are running and "talking" over each other. I would really like any suggestions/assistance one can offer.

Thanks! Dawn

Hi, Team

I see that you can pause the base layer so the narration will not run over the narration on the other layers, but I am not sure where to pause it? It states in the properties (base layer) but I am not sure where to find it even after reviewing the information.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Dawn

Hi Dawn,

I'm happy to jump in here!

To pause the timeline of base layer, you'll want to select the additional layer in Slide Layers, select the properties icon, then check the box next to pause the timeline of base layer. Here's a quick demo!

This pauses the base layer, including animations and audio, while the current layer is visible. The base layer's timeline will resume where it left off when the current layer is closed.

If you have additional questions, I'd be happy to take a closer look at your project! You can upload it here or share it privately in a support case. We'll delete it from our systems once troubleshooting is complete!
