I have recently been issued a new laptop in work, which s great. However, when I open storyline, and some other apps the text is miniscule. Any idea on how to change back to appearance of old windows OS?
Are you referring to the top tab of Storyline? That looks normal to me - although Storyline does need to be utilized with a dpi setting of 96 as detailed here which on high resolution monitors can make things appear smaller. If you're looking to downgrade from Windows 10 I'd defer to Microsoft for additional information on that.
This is exactly what I mean, before coming to Windows 10 the menu bar etc... was readable. This is way to small, and I have very good eyesight. Other colleagues using SL see it as I used to. Is there a recommend res, the slider bar at 100 now makes all other text unreadable. Kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place
Unfortunately there isn't another recommended setting, as using Storyline with a different resolution or DPI is known to cause odd behavior in the application itself. I know some other users have mentioned that on high resolution machines they've been able to adjust it to display less than 2,000 pixels in width and that allowed for things to look much clearer and easier to read. Additionally if you're using a Mac with a Windows virtual environment, the steps here to disable the retina display also help (that's my personal set up as well - Win 10 on VMWare).
