Storyline Audio Problem

Dec 07, 2023

Hello everyone,
I have a problem...
I created a support via StoryLine and added audio recorded with the microphone (French, English, Spanish).
The version I published in the 09/11/2023 review was validated yesterday by the requester.
Today (07/12/2023), I realize that the audio has been modified: it fades in whereas it didn't on the November version. It's very annoying because you can't hear the beginning of sentences.
I've tried shifting my audio by 1 or 2 seconds, I've tried changing the audio settings when publishing, but nothing works, I still have the same problem.
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance.
Sophie

Hi ISS France!

It sounds like you've run into unexpected behavior with the audio from your Storyline course.

It would be much easier for myself or other community members to assist you if we could take a look at your project file to see how the audio is set up. Would you be willing to share a copy of your .story file here in the discussion or privately through a support case?

We'll delete it from our system as soon as troubleshooting is finished!

Hi ISS France!

Thank you for sharing the .story file! Your course looks great!

After previewing several slides containing audio (in 64-bit Storyline 360 version 3.82.31354.0 via Windows Parallels on a Mac M1) I didn't notice any of the audio fading in or out.

To clarify, does the fading occur on a specific scene or slide? If so, would you mind sharing which one so I can better assist?

Thank you! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi ISS France!

Thanks for following up and letting us know!

You mentioned this behavior occurs during published output. Can you please share how you are publishing the course? To an LMS, Review 360, or the Web? If you are noticing this issue when viewing the course on an LMS, there is a chance the problem is LMS-specific.

Also, would you be willing to share a copy of the .story file from November where this behavior cannot be observed?

Thank you!

ISS France

Hi Steven,
Thanks for your reply :)
My first goal is to publish this support on Review 360. I haven't yet tried to publish it on our internal LMS platform. Would you advise me to try publishing to an LMS?
Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the November version. I have made a number of changes in response to suggestions and "overwritten" the old version.

Hello everyone,
I've finally identified the problem, and it was totally improbable!
In fact, it was coming from my Jabra headset... I realized this while creating a tutorial on the use of a computer tool. As we've had the same equipment in the company since November, we've all had to deal with the same problem... we just had to know.
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your responsiveness and help. I'm sorry to have wasted your time on this matter...
I wish you all a happy holiday season :)

Hello ISS France,

It's great to hear you resolved the issue! I'm glad to know it was a quick fix once you pinpointed that it was related to your Jabra headset.

We're always happy to help! No need to apologize. I'm sure this will be of help to others in the community with a similar setup. I'm happy that they can use this thread as a reference point! :)

Feel free to reach out to the community in the future with any discoveries or questions you'd like to share. 🎉

Hope that you have a wonderful holiday season and start to 2024!  ✨
